Prologo Kappa Evo PAS T 2.0

March 14, 2016

The stock Body Geometry saddle from the Pitch Comp isn't comfortable for me on longer rides, so I was looking for alternative saddles and randomly browsing some forums, I chanced upon a discussion about the Charge Spoon saddle. However, it is not available locally so it was sitting in my Amazon shopping cart together with the 510 Freerider shoes until I find a way to get them here.

Casual discussion with a friend led to another discovery- the Prologo saddles, which is being sold by Pedal Pushers located in my area. So I head over to the store and took advantage of their computerized "butt-sizing machine" where the data is fed into Prologo's online site that recommends models suitable based on the rider's butt.

I was recommended the Nago model but after a ride it was worse than the Body Geometry. I returned it and told the store personnel about it so I was asking for alternatives. The second recommended model is the Kappa, but they don't have a test unit. I asked them if it's possible to test the sealed unit by fitting it into one of their bikes. It was a pleasure to be handed proper customer service as they obliged.

Mounted in one of the Traction hardtail bikes, I rode around the area and immediately I felt the difference with the previous model. I tried to run over bumps and gravel to my satisfaction and I decided it is the one. So I took the Kappa Evo PAS T 2.0 and here it is fitted on my Pitch Comp.

When we went out for a ride again, I have proven once more that it is the better one compared to the Nago.

It weighs 251g with microfibre cover and nylon base. The rail is graded which makes it easy to remember adjustments when fitted to a different bike, but it will be staying with the Pitch Comp for a while.
