My Creo suffered from another episode that made me and my wallet tremble in fear. Thankfully, Specialized Philippines to the rescue.
Here's what happened during the pandemic break and how I neglected the Creo.
I finally pulled the trigger on getting an e-bike, and this is my journey.
In my younger days, I used to bike a lot to support another hobby - freshwater fish collection. I go with friends to find small swamps where we can collect Daphnia as feed for my growing variety of fish. In particular, I'm fond of breeding Siamese Fighting Fish which at one point grew to over 30 in number. I sell them to the local Bio Research to fund maintenance.
I didn't have a bike of my own when I started cycling, so I rent. Not only that I ride, but I'm also a fan of the sport. I remember when I have to line up the streets to see the Tour of Luzon cyclists pass by my area. There was even a local Comics that I follow as it is about a cycling hero.
When I finally got to have my own bike, I made a frankenstein out of it by having the frame customized and fitted with a single shock absorber... a motorcycle shock absorber. I gave instructions to the shop on how to do it and I'm sure they were murmuring "what the hell are you trying to do" as they look at the mechanical drawing I came up with. It did work and I was proud of the accomplishment, my first suspension bike.
At the latter part of my high school, I stopped riding.
Fast forward, I got interested in cycling again because I'm feeling lazy walking to my favorite ramen place Mendokoro Ramenba, in Makati.
That led to the purchase of the Classic Birdy from Bikes Per Minute and my cycling interest has been re-kindled. Almost a year after my folding bike, I got my first mountain bike and shortly thereafter a hybrid bike.
Ironically, I find that cycling around Makati is a dangerous proposition so back to walking going to the ramen place.
Riding now takes place elsewhere, and I have gone to places I've never been before.
