Shimano SH-SM56

Placebo effect? As I was examining the physical difference between the SH-SM51 and SH-SM56 the word that came to mind was placebo.

I can hardly find a difference in shape and construction between the 51 and 56, other than the obvious difference in material used.

Is the 56 "softer?"

I don't know. The photos below shows how close the two models are.

Nevertheless, ride-testing with the SH-SM56 gives more confidence that release is indeed quicker.
