First ride to Antipolo

September 3, 2016

It's been a while since we at Subaru Society had an activity, so when they guys planned for a group ride, I gladly obliged. From the original plan of riding to Quezon City, we ended up in Antipolo! Thankfully, my grocery bike inherited the e*thirteen extended range cog from the Niner since I purchased a new PG-1050 cassette.

This is the second ride that I had to deal with vehicles at high density and it wasn't fun. Along Marcos highway, there's supposed to be a bike lane but is absolutely useless because it's ON the sidewalk, and the sidewalk has all sorts of obstructions like parked cars, vendors, and of course pedestrians.

When we turned to Sumulong highway, the bike lane is much better as it's part of the road, but parked vehicles still obstruct along its length not to mention jeepney drivers who will over take us and abruptly stop to pick up passengers. I was riding with my cleats disengaged since we entered Marcos highway.

Our first stop was at McDonald's which gave me time to settle down and bring my heart rate back to zone 1. We then continued our ride to De Mars for our breakfast.

I found omelette in the menu and I love omelette. I wasn't expecting much in terms of taste but it turned out to be pretty good and I liked it a lot.

On our way back to Greenmeadows, we took Sumulong highway then to Marikina and finally to C5.

My Garmin Edge 25 failed again in connecting to the sensors after being in stand by. I had to save the current ride, turn the device off and on again to reconnect to the sensors.
