With the apparent success of the Colnago V1-r shakedown last December, I am feeling confident that doing the same thing with my newly built Niner RLT 9 Steel would yield positive results. So here I am again with Carlo and the gang.
I was early at Molito so I took this opportunity to take a shot.
Dan and Elbert ignored their alarms so we headed over to Daang-hari to have coffee as we wait for their arrival. Unfortunately, one of the Colnago got a puncture and our "tire technician" worked on it when he arrived. :D
Our first major stop is the usual place, Total along Governor's drive.
When I got to Petron, I feel that cramps is creeping up already. I'm not getting any confident based on what I had to endure the first time we took this route.
I continued pedalling up to Indang and I knew I had to give up. I decided that while the cramps is not yet severe, I should head back to Molito so I informed the group of my decision.
On the way back, I was just rolling but I noticed this sign so I dismounted and took the photo.
We're supposed to take Amadeo on the way back but I got my route wrong so I ended up at the intersection where SM Dasmarinas is. I knew what to expect - traffic!
Daang-hari was a traffic mess as I ride and walk to get through it.
My Garmin ran out of battery again as I was resting from cramps at Toyota Dasmarinas. Here's the Strava ride from Molito to Indang and back to Dasmarinas as recorded by the Garmin Edge 25 and the Relive video.
From Dasmarinas back to Molito, I used my iPhone to record the ride in Strava.
I screwed up somehow in the assembly of the RLT 9 Steel as front derailleur problem manifested as early as entry to Open Canal where it won't shift to the big chainring.
The other issue is the seizure of the headset, thankfully I was already back at Molito when it became worse.
And finally, the left "brifter" got lose. My golly!
