It was supposed to be a usual ride from Wall 3 to Sinai and back, but it wasn't.
Earlier, the bottle cage I bought from Jetti near Mall of Asia broke which means I don't have water with me during the ride. I thought it was ok as I've been to this route more than once and I know I will survive.
Coming back from Sinai we took the Roxas trail that I am used to but on the way there were signs we shouldn't have done that. Along the path were fallen trees, not once but twice. We have to lift our bikes past them and then there's mud all over and one is so deep that a quarter of the bike's wheels were engulfed by it.
We continued riding what seems to be the right path but aren't as we missed the left turn which is supposed to lead us back to Basic trail where the buko vendor is at. Instead, we find our selves dealing in an endless ascent with hard rocks, more mud, and even poo, lots of them big poo.
At one point I was asking Carlo if he knew someone in the area so we can be picked up. But there's no cellular signal! Ha ha ha.
After the long, steep climbs where I had to push the bike half of the time we finally have some down hill, what goes up must come down. I was tired and exasperated at the same time excited to see civilization that at one point my and the bike ended up endo. It wasn't bad, but embarassing enough.
We finally heard dogs barking and we knew we're near where we could finally rest and replenish lost fluids.
My bike was full of mud and it will need thorough cleaning to bring back its shine.
In the end, I learned that we did the real reverse Roxas, not just the Roxas loop. Here's the Strava data of what seems to be a perfectly normal trail.
