My journey into Photography, Horology, and Audiophilia |
I was invited to speak to a group of San Beda students in Hong Kong and I took this opportunity to take some photos.
I was invited by San Beda College to speak about technology for their students who are having a field trip in the island. It's a same-day round trip and I have 5 hours to burn, so I laid out a plan to "maximize" the trip.
The plan was to arrive at Tsuen Wan in time for my speaking engagement, run a favor for a friend at Castle Peak, go to Prince Edward and eat at One Dim Sum (1 Michelin Starred place), onwards to Yau Ma Tei and buy watch stuff at Nam Hing, and finally to Tsim Sha Tsui to buy lens at New Sankyo.
Just like every city I go to, I prepare for the routes...
Sounds like a doable plan...
The first time I left my car at the NAIA Terminal 3 parking, it took me an hour to find it (stupid me for not remembering where I parked it) when I got back from Cebu, so this time I took a photo.
First trip with me and the Inge. Everytime I travel and on economy, I always take the Exit seat. The Cebu Pacific Web Check-in worked like a charm, kudos to Navitaire (not that you're my customer).
Upon arrival at Chek Lap Kok, the first thing I looked for is a clock And off to the exit, I go.
One thing I love about Nokia's Ovi Maps is that it is offline. Here I have the map as we travel the looooong Highway 8 to Tsuen Wan. Note that my E-72 does not have a SIM card in it.
Upon arrival at Tsuen Wan, I went to the Sheung Moon restaurant at Panda Place and this is where I will deliver the talk. And this is the time that I feel my schedule is screwed... The talk is supposed to be 12n to 1pm, and due to reasons beyond me, I finished almost 3pm.
After the talk, I went to Castle Peak Road to do a friend a favor... Fail! This is the footbridge leading to Castle Peak and MTR...
I have to skip the Prince Edward stop-over as I'm running out of time. Finally, Nathan Road. One of my goal is to buy a CX lens for my Nikon J1, and that was at the end of the red line, so I was glad to find this camera store as I walk towards Nam Hing.
Honestly, I got lost going to Nam Hing. Due to the heavy clouds (it was drizzling) my GPS can't lock on. But eventually, I found Parkes Street...
Back at Nathan, I'm tempted, but avoided entering this place...
Finally, boarded the train (two transfers) and now onwards via Airport Express...
Back at the airport (love my 1 Nikkor CX 10mm f/2.
Shot using my new acquisition, 1 Nikkor CX VR 30-110mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 110mm hand-held.
Finally, I know I'm back in Manila as I doze off this 2-hour traffic along Sales Road towards Makati.
